Think before uploading a child's photo to AI

AI photo apps can create amazing images - BUT can also create real privacy and security risks.

Once uploaded, you may no longer have complete control of the photo. Read this before you share any image of a child.

YOUR CHILD'S FACE IS UNIQUE

A child's face contains distinctive information. An uploaded photograph may be analysed, processed or stored by the company operating the AI service. You can change a password. You cannot change your child's face.

YOU MAY NOT KNOW HOW THE IMAGE IS USED

Some AI services may retain uploaded images or use submitted content to improve, develop or train their systems, depending on their terms and privacy policies. Deleting the photo from your phone does not necessarily delete the copy you uploaded.

WHO WILL HAVE YOUR CHILD'S PHOTOGRAPH?

AI companies can be sold, acquired or merged. The company handling your child's photograph today may not be the company handling it in the future. Once you hand the image over, you may have little control over who ultimately processes it.

YOUR CHILD HAS NOT CHOSEN THIS

Children cannot make an informed decision about their photographs being uploaded to commercial AI systems. A photograph supplied for a nursery or family purpose is very different from sending it to an unrelated AI platform.

AI CAN CREATE REALISTIC IMAGES OF REAL PEOPLE

Modern AI can manipulate photographs and create highly realistic synthetic images. Images can potentially be copied, altered or used to create content you never intended. A harmless-looking photograph today could potentially be used for something completely different tomorrow.

Once you upload it, you may not get it back.
Deleting the photo or app doesn't delete copies already uploaded or stored elsewhere

Once it's out of your hands, you may never know exactly where it goes.

How long will the delivery take?

The delivery time is dependent on the payment/ delivery method.

Orders which include free shipping to your school are processed in bulk 1-3 business days after the order deadline.

This means your order won't be sent back to your school until after the deadline has closed.

For Home Delivery Orders, we aim to have your order processed and shipped within 2-5 business working days.

All our orders are sent by Royal Mail.

Delivery time may also vary depending on the type of products ordered. For example larger prints take longer to process.
